BYPASS traveling to NW: Green River, WY to Pocatello, ID. Avoids Northern Utah Metro Salt Lake City complex, AND a much more pleasant drive. Good roads, uphill passing lanes, some 4 lane sections. Gas in most of the small towns. Rural area, active with farm equipment on the roads and in towns.
In Wyoming traveling west on I-80, turn north 2.3 miles west of Green River, WY onto Hwy 30 to Granger, Opal, Kremmer; North at Sage [going west here to Garden City, takes you around Bear Lake–a small, turquoise colored lake then to Montpelier, ID], WY to Cokeville, Geneva to Montpelier; Soda Springs, Lava Hot Springs to I-15 north to Pocatello to I-86 South; on to Twin Falls and Boise.
